Rainy Days & Puppies
Housebreaking a tiny puppy is SO much easier when the sun is shining. There we are, nearly every hour on the hour, as she tumbles in the grass and chases her shadow.
But today, it rains. Sadie Mae doesn't seem to mind the rain. After all, she has a nice fur coat that she shakes water from as she darts around my mulched plants and picks up colorful fall leaves to bring to me gleefully.
I must stop her from clamboring over the driveway sides into the red clay mud! Grabbing a rambunctious puppy with one hand while I hold an umbrella in the other hand doesn't always work well. I've changed clothes twice today already and it is only 3 in the afternoon.
When I get her three pounds of puppy-hood into the warm dry house, she squiggles through being towel-dried, then runs to chase her tennis ball across the floor. Finally, she'll drop on her back, paws in the air, and sleep deeply.
